Mike and his brother Rick are owners of Diamond Fire with bases in Sutherlin, and Central Point,
Oregon. Mike began contracting in 1980, performing on silviculture, hazard fuels reduction, and
prescribed fire contracts for both private landowners and agencies. Then progressed into wildland fire in
the mid-1980’s and has held both engine and crew contracts since their inception. Diamond Fire continues
to perform on forestry, forest road maintenance, prescribed fire, and wildland fire with type-2 and type-
2IA crews, engines, and other resources.
Mike and his wife Karen enjoy spending time with their grandkids and road trips on his Harley.
Mike has been a member of NWSA since 1994 and previously served 10 years as a NWSA board member
and served 6 years on the NWSA training committee. “We must work together to keep the fire
suppression industry strong, and our companies will be strong.”
